What do you love about what you do every day? First as a good government geek, I love the fact that my position at Multnomah County lets me work everyday to help make sure that Multnomah County provides quality services at a good value for our citizens and that Multnomah County is a good place to work. Second, I love a few minutes every day on the green roof of my building, looking at the Portland downtown skyline from the eastside and watching the OHSU trams on their travels.

Background and Experience: Graduate school for public health and administration at Portland State University and University of Washington, BS Western Washington. I had been the CFO at Multnomah County Health Department from 1988-2000 and a board member of OPCA from 2001-2006. I've worked as a board member of the CareOregon development group since 1997, as a board officer since 1999, and as a board chair since 2004.
What do you love about what you do every day? I really enjoy the people I get to work with.

Background and Experience: Graduated from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City and completed my family medicine training at Duke University. I've served as the head of the Office for Oregon Health Policy and Research, Medical Director for CareOregon, Health Officer for Columbia County in Oregon, and Director of Community Health Services in Zuni, New Mexico. I also was a faculty member at Oregon Health and Science University for more than 15 years. I'm currently the chairman of the American Public Human Services Association's National Policy Council.
What do you love about what you do every day? I love the opportunity to improve the lives of so many people in Oregon.

Background and Experience: Masters of Business Administration (Finance) and Masters of Healthcare Administration (Managed Care) from the University of Minnesota, Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of North Dakota. From 2000 to 2003, I was a Project Director for CareOregon and OCHIN. From 2003 through the beginning of 2007, I was OCHIN's Chief Operating Officer and Chief Strategic Officer. I am currently OCHIN's CEO.
What do you love about what you do every day? I can't imagine working in a better community than the community health center world or doing better work than what we are trying to accomplish. It feels like my hobby is my work and I have the opportunity to impact other's lives.
