OCHIN has specifically customized this platform for Federally Qualified Health Center's (FQHC's) and Rural Health Center's (RHC's). OCHIN specializes in providing these services to organizations serving the medically underserved including community health clinics and small practice groups.

Scanning Solutions
OCHIN provides an integrated enterprise content management module that integrates document management, business process management and records management in a single application.

OCHIN uses this tool for the scanning, indexing and retrieval of business information such as insurance cards and HIPAA forms that are captured at the front desk on paper but need to be in electronic format to improve workflow and productivity.

Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC)
OCHIN has developed several customizations specific to the needs of our FQHC partners. A sampling of these customizations can be found below:
  • OCHIN sends CVR data and other data required for the FPEP visit directly to Ahlers via an interface.
  • UDS reporting of homeless patients is captured and staff are reminded to refresh data at least once each year.
  • OCHIN developed a check-out statement that satisfies the requirement for self-pay.
  • A sliding fee scale was developed to capture the yearly federal poverty level. The slide is configured to adjust based upon the type of services being provided.
  • Billing was enhanced to allow the claims to be either bundled or unbundled as required for a Medicare FQHC encounter or the Medicare Part B intermediary. Managed Medicaid reporting for the claims wrap is supported.
  • UDS reporting is developed centrally and provided to all FQHC members for federal reporting.
Community Library Reports
Epic provides a wide collection of reports that OCHIN has modified to meet the needs of our members. Furthermore, any report built for one member is available to all. This collaborative approach to data collection and data sharing allows for easy comparison across similar organizations. Specific examples of reports follow:

In addition to the above system, OCHIN has developed a product we call Solutions. Solutions provides OCHIN members with a powerful quality improvement data warehousing tool pre-packaged with 150 clinical and non-clinical metrics used in other large clinical organizations

Flexible Build & Configuration
OCHIN has worked with multiple clinics building provider schedules to work for advanced access planning and configuration. These tools allow the providers and front desk to quickly access open slots for the day and make appropriate adjustments. The templates are designed with specific blocks within the schedule for same day appointments that will not allow the slot to be booked until the evening before or the day of.

OCHIN has also developed reports to assist the clinics managers track when provider’s schedules are getting full.

Automated Patient Notifications
OCHIN provides a complete integration with TeleVox services. TeleVox offers a full range of communication products for the healthcare industry. These solutions resolve time-consuming communication issues associated with appointment reminders and patient notifications.

Many OCHIN member organizations perform automated reminders and patient notifications through TeleVox. These services are made possible through an interface between OCHIN and TeleVox.
